About the Role

Our client is a leading distributor of agricultural machinery in Ireland, with a network of 40 independent dealers and a separate division selling fast-moving parts for tractors and agricultural machinery. This vacancy is within their department responsible for importing, assembling, and distributing machinery.

Job Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Sourcing new and replacement parts from current suppliers to maintain quality, costs, and delivery.">
  • Expanding the product range by sourcing products from new suppliers and continually improving on quality, costs, and delivery.">
  • Maintaining good relationships with all suppliers for clear communications and ensuring timely deliveries.">
  • Negotiating contracts with current suppliers to get the best value and delivery agreements.">
  • Liaising with supplier checking agents to ensure smooth processes and resolving any issues that arise.">
  • Developing proactive relationships with colleagues and suppliers on product pricing, availability, and forecasting.">
  • Analyzing sales trends and figures to ensure buying habits are aligned.">
  • Communicating clearly and consistently on product specifications, measurements, etc.">
  • Managing large amounts of information and dealing with follow-ups and confirmations efficiently.">
  • Liaising with the Warehouse Manager on new products and deliveries.">
  • Liaising with the marketing and webshop administrator to ensure all products are up-to-date and advertised correctly.">
  • Managing international shipping rules, customs, excise, and VAT duties related paperwork.">
  • Liaising with the sales team on product research, market trends, and product specifications.">
  • Supporting other departments in resolving queries and issues.">
  • Staying updated with industry changes and trends proactively seeking information when required.">

Requirements

  • ">
  • Proven track record in a busy sourcing or purchasing environment preferably in an Agri-related parts industry.">
  • Experience in agricultural parts or machinery sector would be advantageous.">
  • Experience in international sourcing and purchasing procedures.">
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.">
  • Skilled in price negotiations and chasing Suppliers for information.">
  • Ability to build and maintain Supplier relationships.">
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.">
  • Ability to work under pressure and with large volumes of workloads.">
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.">
  • Excellent customer service skills.">
  • Able to work with different people and departments whose priorities may not be the same as yours.">
  • Purchasing management qualification would be an advantage.">
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).">
  • MS NAV experience would be an advantage but not essential.">
