Job Overview

A Principal role at a public school seeks an experienced leader to drive instructional improvements and student achievement.

We require a motivated individual with expertise in educational leadership, teaching experience, and the ability to innovate and challenge the status quo.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and administration, motivating instructional and support personnel to strive for superior performance. They will be responsible for driving rapid and dramatic instructional improvements by implementing strategies aligned with the school's improvement plan.

Key responsibilities include leading the school's vision, mission, and strategic goals, developing a professional development plan, and managing partnerships with families and community members.

The ideal candidate will possess strong pedagogical skills, be highly effective at coaching adults, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. They must have a Master's Degree in Educational Administration/Leadership and a valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate in School Administration/Educational Leadership.

Additional qualifications include at least three years of successful teaching experience, two to three years as an Assistant Principal, or one year experience as a School Principal. The successful candidate will participate in a background check and meet suitability requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Educational Administration/Leadership from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate in School Administration/Educational Leadership.
  • At least three years of successful teaching experience.
  • Two to three years as an Assistant Principal; or one year experience as a School Principal; or one year as an Assistant Principal with three to four years of Instructional Coaching experience preferred.
