EHS Specialist Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled EHS Specialist to support a construction project. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring construction activities are carried out safely and in compliance with all relevant regulatory and corporate EHS requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and Manage Permit to Work System: Ensure seamless execution of tasks while maintaining safety standards.
  • EHS Compliance: Verify adherence to PSCS/PSDP regulations for construction activities.
  • EHS Inductions: Deliver comprehensive inductions to contractors and project personnel.
  • Risk Assessments and Method Statements: Review and approve RAMS to mitigate potential risks.
  • EHS Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate reports, records, and statistics.
  • EHS Management Systems: Support implementation and continuous improvement of EHS policies and procedures.
  • Risk Monitoring: Conduct risk assessments and monitor control measures.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Verify readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Emergency Response: Assist in developing and coordinating emergency response procedures.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Relevant third-level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety and/or Environmental discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years' experience in an EHS role, preferably in a construction environment within the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical sector.
  • EHS Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Irish EHS legislation, especially related to construction projects.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to engage with contractors and stakeholders across multidisciplinary teams.
