Job Role Overview:

The role of a Mechanical Plant Engineer is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of technical services for various clients. This dynamic position involves leading the support of all technical services, including clean and black utilities upgrades and remediation projects.

As a Mechanical Plant Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to guarantee that all maintenance, preventive, and unplanned work on assigned equipment/systems is completed on schedule, within budget, and in a safe and satisfactory manner. You will also assist in reviewing spare parts levels, managing task schedules, and resources, and maintaining awareness of compliance with cGMP regulations.

This role requires a degree in Mechanical or Marine and Plant Engineering, 5-10 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical sectors, and strong communication skills. Chartered status is desirable.

The ideal candidate will possess self-motivation, leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others. You will work closely with the Planner to prioritize workflow and manage plant engineering support for CIP meeting outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely completion of maintenance, preventive, and unplanned work on assigned equipment/systems within budget and in a safe environment.
  • Collaborate in reviewing spare parts levels and task management of schedules and resources assigned.
  • Maintain awareness of compliance with cGMP regulations and ensure equipment owners have spare parts available and assigned to the correct equipment.
  • Develop and implement improvement and upgrade projects to enhance overall reliability and safety.
  • Liaise with Planner and prioritize workflow, and organize plant engineering support for CIP meeting outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical or Marine and Plant Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical sectors.
  • Self-starter with leadership skills and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others.
  • Chartered status desirable.
