Job Title: Plant Operations Director

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Plant Operations Director to lead operations at our new state-of-the-art production facility in the South East.

This is a pivotal senior management role, offering the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the ongoing growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all plant operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Build and develop a strong leadership team and wider workforce.
  • Manage day-to-day production, maintenance, quality, logistics, and process optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across the facility.
  • Control plant performance, managing costs while maintaining operational excellence.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and mentoring of plant staff at all levels.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives for products, processes, and systems.
  • Manage relationships with key customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and present plant performance reports to senior management.
Requirements
  • Strong background in senior operations or plant management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience with performance management and full responsibility.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience managing large teams.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards in manufacturing.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or a related technical field is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience within the gypsum or building materials industry is an advantage but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
