Plant and Equipment Coordinator

We are looking for a dedicated Plant and Equipment Coordinator to join our team. Reporting directly to the EHS Director and working closely with the Plant and Equipment Administrator, this role plays a vital part in overseeing plant and equipment operations across multiple projects, ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily use, monitoring, and control of all plant and equipment, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety regulations.
  • Support the Plant and Equipment Administrator in keeping comprehensive and current records within the compliance management system, including asset inventories and hire logs.
  • Work alongside Project Managers and site Supervisors to source and acquire plant and equipment in line with project requirements and procurement guidelines.
  • Help prepare monthly reports for management meetings, outlining equipment performance, incidents (such as lost, recovered, or scrapped items), and current hire statuses.
  • Perform regular audits and inspections of plant and equipment both on-site and in the workshop to ensure maintenance standards and safety compliance are met.
  • Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) as needed.
  • Respond promptly to equipment requests from sites, troubleshoot operational issues, and perform basic maintenance and repairs when necessary.
  • Assist with coordinating warranty claims, repairs, and replacements by liaising with suppliers.
  • Organize and manage the transfer and delivery of plant, equipment, consumables, and prefabricated materials between the workshop and project sites using company vehicles.
  • Occasionally deliver plant equipment and prefabricated components to project locations as required.

Key Requirements:

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and equipment compliance tracking systems (training will be provided).
  • Familiarity with asset management tools, including QR code systems or similar technology (training provided).
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and reporting skills.
  • Effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • A mechanical or electrical trade qualification is beneficial but not essential.
