The role of Investment Modelling Manager involves strengthening an organization's capability to evaluate commercial opportunities, quantify risks and returns, and ensure investment decisions are grounded in robust financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Case Development & Investment Support: Develop detailed and flexible financial models to support route-to-market decisions, revenue projections, sensitivity testing, and risk analysis. Lead the development of commercial business cases for new investments, projects, and strategic initiatives.
  • Market Analysis: Analyze key developments across the energy market, including regulatory changes, auction frameworks (e.g. RESS, CfDs), carbon pricing, and capacity market dynamics. Monitor market trends and advise on strategies.
  • External Advisor & Stakeholder Interface: Manage external inputs into market studies, commercial due diligence, and modelling support to ensure consistency and value. Act as primary point of contact for engagement with external commercial and market advisors.
  • Governance & Approval Process Support: Prepare documentation required for investment governance processes, including Stage Gate reviews and Investment Committee submissions. Lead the preparation of supporting materials for investment proposals.
Requirements
  • Education: A degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Economics, Business, or Engineering is essential.
  • Postgraduate or professional qualification (e.g. CFA, ACA, MBA) can be beneficial.
  • Experience: Proven experience in business case development, financial modelling, or commercial strategy is required. Ideally, this will be within the energy or regulated sectors.
