We are seeking a seasoned Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. As an Automation Engineer, you will design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools (Jest, XCUI etc.), debugging and defining corrective actions for a complex microservices system.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with teams of engineers as an Automation Engineer and leading automation initiatives; they are detail-oriented, understand application development methodologies, and want to apply their technical skills to build out automated test systems and deployment pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools (Jest, XCUI etc.)
  • Translate business requirements into detailed, comprehensive, well-structured test plans and test cases
  • Decompose the system to test services and existing functionality in isolation and perform more extensive end-to-end tests
  • Develop and improve our test automation frameworks by leveraging cloud infrastructure and implementing necessary CI/CD pipelines
  • Improve deployment approval processes to allow automated testing and deployments to testing, pre-production and production environments; create and help improve these environments
  • Partner with Engineering teams to review quality specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful risk assessment and feedback
Requirements:
  • Experience with App Test Automation is a plus (XCUI framework)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous communication (AMQP, RabbitMQ), preferably in a microservices environment
  • Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions, and integrating automated testing in the pipeline is a plus
  • Good understanding and experience with cloud and containerization principles is a plus (Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot problems and identify improvements; experience with logging and monitoring tools (Splunk, Loggly, SignalFX, New Relic, Datadog)
