Electrical Systems Specialist
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Electrical Systems Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems in High Voltage Substations. You will work closely with our engineering team to ensure that all designs are safe, efficient, and meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- To plan, scope and cost projects in High Voltage Substations
- To prepare preliminary health and safety documentation and design risk assessments
- To prepare detailed electrical designs, including layouts, schematics and wiring schedules
- To comply with safety legislation and act as a first point of contact on behalf of the organization for ESB Networks
- To liaise and coordinate with designers in other disciplines, external contractors and design teams while maintaining commercial focus
- To provide technical support throughout the HV substation lifecycle
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years electrical experience or equivalent design work experience is essential
- Proficiency and adaptability in CAD/CAE Systems such as MicroStation, AutoCAD or Similar
- General Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- A track record in implementing standards, policies and quality systems to ensure optimum designs
- Knowledge of ESB HV network assets and High Voltage Sub-Stations
- Understands and applies relevant approved Quality Management systems and standards
Qualifications:
- Advanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate OR a suitable Level 7 or higher qualification in Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical, building Services OR other suitable qualification with a sizeable electrical content

Benefits:
