Job Opportunity: Accounting Technician Role

This is a fixed-term accounting position available for 6 months. The role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience and develop skills in a finance team.

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, managing cash flow and minimizing outstanding debts.
  • Prepare VAT and RCT returns, adhering to tax regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist with payroll processing and related queries, providing support to employees and management.
  • Support month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing insights into business performance.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring compliance.
  • Maintain accounting systems and ensure data integrity, using software applications and Excel effectively.
  • Review and validate employee monthly expenses, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
Requirements:
  • Hold an Accounting Technician qualification (ATI) or equivalent, demonstrating knowledge and expertise in accounting principles.
  • Have at least 2 years' experience in a finance or accounting role, showcasing your ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in accounting software and Excel, applying your technical skills to contribute to the success of the finance team.
  • Show a strong attention to detail and organisational skills, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Show knowledge of Irish tax regulations and financial governance, adhering to laws and regulations that govern business operations.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with Business Central or Power BI, leveraging software applications to drive business growth and improve decision-making.
  • Familiarity with cashflow management and financial controls, applying your knowledge to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial information.
