Overview:

A leading credit rating agency seeks a seasoned senior financial professional to join its expanding financial institutions team in Dublin. This role will focus on credit ratings and research primarily on European financial institutions, including banks, asset managers, and finance companies.

About the Role:

  • Lead the credit rating process for various types of financial institutions, demonstrating expertise and leadership skills.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of financial statements to develop rating recommendations, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports, memos, and supporting materials, incorporating quantitative and qualitative assessments to inform rating decisions.
  • Present credit rating recommendations to committees, effectively communicating complex ideas.
  • Continuously monitor a portfolio of financial institutions, identifying and assessing significant developments that impact ratings.
  • Collaborate with team members to produce industry-leading reports, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Engage with management teams from rated financial institutions, providing expert insights and guidance.
  • Participate in industry conferences and events, staying abreast of market trends and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, mathematics, or related fields, with strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced degree or CFA designation, with a passion for ongoing learning and professional development.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial institution credit rating, research, or capital markets, with a proven track record of success.
  • Expertise in credit analysis of banks and non-bank financial institutions, with a deep understanding of financial statement analysis and international accounting standards.
  • Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, for research and productivity purposes, is an asset but not required.
