Job Overview

As a Structural Design Engineer, you will provide professional support to the Multi Annual Programmes Section, Network Enhancements Department.

  • Deliver high-quality designs and manage projects within authorized targets.
  • Collaborate with Programme Managers, Senior Structural Engineers, and Project Managers in delivering departmental projects.
  • Provide technical services to internal colleagues, external design teams, and contractors/suppliers.

Key Qualifications:

  • A third-level qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
  • Membership of Engineers Ireland or equivalent professional governing body is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience working in a Civil and/or Structural Engineering Design office is necessary.

Competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery and contract management is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills are essential for success.

General Management Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Network Enhancements systems and processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with company and industry standards.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Project manage sub-projects within major projects undertaken by the business Unit.
  • Carry out structural assessments and prepare technical reports.
  • Prepare outline and detailed designs for new bridges, including foot bridges.
