
Care Support Specialist

The role of a Social Care Assistant is to provide support to individuals with varying needs, promoting their autonomy and well-being. As a key member of the care team, you will work closely with colleagues to ensure high-quality support that meets the unique requirements of each individual.
- Responsibilities:
- Providing personal care, including assistance with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Encouraging independence by facilitating choices and decision-making processes for individuals.
- Developing and implementing personalized plans to meet the diverse needs of service users.
- Contributing to a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes social interaction and community engagement.
- Participating in staff meetings and contributing to the ongoing development of effective teamwork.
- Assisting with administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and reporting, to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
- Driving centre transport and participating in transport duties as required.
To be successful in this role, you will possess a minimum of a QQI Level 5 Major Award on the QQI Framework or an equivalent qualification in Community/Health or Social Care. Additionally, you will have:
- At least one year's experience working with vulnerable adults or individuals with intellectual disabilities.
- Knowledge of current policy and developments at national and sectoral level in relation to Social Care within disability services.
- Able to follow plans and methods to meet the ongoing needs of service users.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficient IT skills relevant to the role, to include Microsoft Office Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
- A full driver's licence and availability of own car is an essential requirement.
