We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team.

About the Role

This role involves a range of mechanical repairs, including high-speed packing, automation, electro/mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems, and facilities maintenance. You will identify and carry out preventative maintenance outside formal maintenance programs and be fully responsible for technical support requirements for production lines and their supporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out mechanical repairs to a wide range of equipment & processes.
  • Identify and carry out preventative maintenance outside formal maintenance programs.
  • Fully responsible for technical support requirements for production lines and their supporting processes.
  • Use knowledge and available materials to ensure production downtime is kept to an absolute minimum.
  • Work with other Maintenance operatives in a team role.
  • Set up and change over machines for different products.
  • General facility maintenance.
Requirements:
  • Qualification with strong, wide-ranging mechanical skills or fitter skills, mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read mechanical schematic drawings.
  • Ability to use multi-meter and troubleshoot electrical faults.
  • Good understanding of automation and an automated environment: comfortable with modern equipment control interfaces.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, food ideally.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work within a team but also must be able to work with autonomy.
  • Automation literate: comfortable with modern equipment control interface.
  • Highly motivated with proven ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good team player and self-motivated.

Please note that this role requires flexibility with working hours, including starting work at 4am and 7am on a rotation basis.

The successful candidate will be expected to work efficiently, using tools and resources effectively to maintain optimal production levels.
