Home Care Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Home Care Assistant to provide support and care for individuals in residential settings.

The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to empower service users to live independent lives, in line with HIQA national standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist service users with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household duties.
  • To transport service users to facilitate access to all daily living activities.
  • To maintain professional relationships with colleagues and external partners.
  • To identify and report potential hazards and incidents, and take action to prevent harm.
  • To participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Along with other duties that involve providing high-quality care and support to service users.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A relevant QQI Level 5 qualification within the healthcare sector.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • A full manual driving license and access to own transport.
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills.
  • Knowledge of HIQA standards and best practices in home care.
  • Previous experience in social care or a related field.
