Category Management Role Overview

The Category Manager – Timber position is focused on managing relationships within a dynamic supply base.

  • Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to secure cost-effective supply chains that meet customer service requirements.
  • Managing inventory levels across multiple locations to ensure sufficient stock availability while allowing for unexpected supply chain disruptions.
  • Regularly reviewing stock levels and updating staff on expected delivery dates to manage stock deliveries from ports to branches.
Key Responsibilities
  • Building long-term supplier partnerships and improving trading positions in a sustainable manner.
  • Supporting sales teams with timely material sourcing.
  • Leading or supporting complex negotiations with key suppliers.

The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in buying, procurement, or the Building Materials Industry, ideally with knowledge of construction materials, industry regulations, and market trends. Proficiency in using category management software tools and excellent Microsoft Office skills are essential.
