As a Hull Artificer in the Irish Naval Service, you will play a vital role in ensuring the operational readiness and maintenance of the fleet.

About the Role:

  • You will learn to manage, maintain, and crew the ship while ensuring its operational effectiveness.
  • You will be trained to take on the responsibilities of a Hull Artificer at sea, contributing to safety and maintenance of the fleet.
  • Responsibilities include the maintenance, repair, and structural integrity of the vessel's hull, fittings, and associated systems.
  • You will ensure ships remain seaworthy and structurally sound, optimizing operational effectiveness under all conditions.
  • In emergency response situations, including firefighting and damage control duties, you will participate and make key decisions.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Citizenship: You must be an Irish citizen or have the right to work in Ireland.
  • Character & Fitness: You must meet medical, physical, and security clearance standards.
  • Age: You must be between 18 and 39 years old.
  • Qualifications:
    • HETAC Level 7 Bachelor of Science in Craft Technology (Wood) with business
    • National Craft Certificate in Carpentry and Joinery
    • National Craft Certificate in Cabinet Making/Wood Manufacturing and Finishing
    • National Craft Certificate in Shipwright
