Expert Procurement Advisor Wanted for Capital Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled procurement professional to join our team as an Expert Procurement Advisor. This role will involve advising on procurement strategy and execution across major capital projects, working with colleagues and clients to ensure competitive processes are aligned with market capacity and fully compliant with public procurement rules.

The successful candidate will develop and implement procurement strategies, identify procurement needs, develop procurement plans, manage competitive processes, review supplier performance, and negotiate contracts. They will also conduct market analysis to assess capacity and capability of contracting organisations and supply markets.

A key aspect of this role will be building and maintaining positive relationships with project teams, providing professional advice on procurement and sourcing strategies, policies, guidelines, and legislation. The candidate will also coordinate the contract formation process, including reviewing and negotiating contracts with contractors and vendors.

  • Developing and implementing procurement strategies that meet client needs
  • Managing competitive processes to ensure compliance with public procurement rules
  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts with suppliers
  • Building strong relationships with project teams and stakeholders

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3rd level qualification in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Procurement, Law, or related field
  • Confident and commercially minded with at least 10 years of broad professional experience in a similar role
  • Experience in public procurement, contract management and/or administration (construction sector)
  • Knowledge of capital investment projects and experience delivering under the public procurement regime
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team and handle multiple tasks concurrently
