Clinical Nurse Manager
Job DescriptionAs a Clinical Nurse Manager, you will play a key role in the Endoscopy senior nursing team, working closely with the Assistant Director of Nursing for Endoscopy. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the smooth flow of patients attending procedures and allocate daily resources effectively.
You will be expected to demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, driving innovation and transformation that is patient-centered and aligned with our organization's values. As a credible leader, you will empower staff members within the clinical environment, fostering engagement and participation in change management and service improvement projects.
Key responsibilities include participating in data collection, contributing to accreditation processes, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across Beaumont Hospital, RCSI Hospital group, and primary care teams in the community.
In addition, you may be required to deputize for the ADON in meetings or events related to Endoscopy.
Responsibilities- Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- CLINICAL NURSING PRACTICE:
- Demonstrate strong clinical and professional leadership within the nursing team.
- Maintain personal clinical skills through performing direct nursing care.
- Utilize a framework and model of nursing to assess individual patient needs consistent with hospital nursing policy.
- EFFECTIVE TEAMWORK:
- Promote, nurture, and maintain high levels of staff morale, promoting team spirit and job satisfaction among nursing and other staff within the unit.
- Support the effective management of change in line with evidence-based practice.
- STAFFING AND MANPOWER PLANNING:
- Take the lead in planning and allocating nursing teams with appropriate staff numbers, skill mix, and level of experience to meet clinical management workload and ensure continuity of patient care.
- CLINICAL NURSING PRACTICE:
- EDUCATION/ STAFF DEVELOPMENT:
- Assess and identify training and development needs for nursing staff within the unit; participate in setting objectives for such learning and contribute to the development of training programs where appropriate.
- BED MANAGEMENT:
- Assist the ADON or Directorate Nurse Manager in the absence of the ADON, in the implementation of the bed management policy by:
- Coordinating safe and timely admission and discharge of patients with the multidisciplinary teams and ancillary personnel/departments.
- STANDARD AND QUALITY OF CARE:
- Take all necessary steps to safeguard the welfare and safety of patients, staff, and visitors.
- Monitor indicators of quality.
