Job Description:
The Endoscopy Nurse Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the provision of safe, quality assured, efficient service for patients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient care to ensure the highest professional standards using an evidence-based approach.
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight to nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations set by NMBI (Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland).
- Participate in teams and committees as required, communicating effectively with other team members.
- Coordinate activities across healthcare teams.
- Plan and organize schedules within Endoscopy, working closely with the ADON.
- Supervise day-to-day activities of the endoscopy team.
- Lead policy development, implementation, and evaluation, focusing on evidence-based practices.
- Facilitate accreditation processes, including CHKS, JCI, and JAG accreditation.
- Stay up-to-date with research and developments in nursing, participating in continuous professional development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A strong background in nursing, registered with NMBI.
- At least 2 years' experience in a management position within a busy endoscopy service.
- Previous experience in a private healthcare setting is advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence others.
- Experience with quality audit/assurance systems and change management.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
