Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance is seeking an experienced Casualty Underwriter to join our team in Dublin.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in underwriting and be able to work closely with actuaries, the claims team, and underwriters from across the broader team. They should also possess excellent communication and negotiation skills to build strong relationships with brokers and customers.
This role offers the opportunity to expand one's responsibilities and underwriting knowledge with a top global insurance company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and growth of the Irish Casualty team
- Establish and maintain strong broker and customer relationships
- Underwrite Primary and Excess accounts while ensuring high-quality analysis and documentation
- Effectively communicate the value proposition of Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance
- Be a positive ambassador for the company by demonstrating integrity and leadership in the marketplace
Requirements:
- 2+ years of Casualty Underwriting experience
- Existing broker and customer relationships or ability to quickly develop them
- Experience with policy forms
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
