Job Overview:

The Junior Quality Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety across operations. Reporting to the Quality Manager, this standalone role involves defining and establishing best practices for production, conducting inspections and audits, implementing control measures, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with hygiene practices.

  • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits, including ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, FSMA, and Food Safety Audits
  • Collaborate with other departments on audit activities, such as SMETA
  • Plan, execute, and monitor internal audits; train auditors
  • Perform cross audits in other plants (1-2 per year)
  • Monitor Quality KPIs, including consumer complaints, non-conformities, glass & hard plastic checks, and collaborate on corrective actions
  • Manage CAPA updates and follow-up actions
  • Update HACCP plans using risk analysis, manage the food safety team
  • Coordinate Environmental Monitoring Plans and collaborate on their implementation
  • Maintain traceability systems and conduct simulation exercises
  • Coordinate Patrol Walks
  • Conduct training sessions on Food Safety, GMP, PRPs
  • Establish rules based on guidelines, external standards, and legislation
  • Draft manuals and procedures; manage plant quality documentation
  • Supervise external contractors (pest control, cleaning, calibration)
  • Handle purchasing related to food safety activities
  • Manage food safety projects
  • Ensure coverage of all roles through substitution when needed

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Food Science or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
