Lead Site Reliability Engineer Job Overview

The Lead Site Reliability Engineer is a critical leadership role that requires a strong understanding of technical domains and business issues. Key responsibilities include designing and managing tools to automate operational processes, collaborating with team members to identify service level indicators, and working with stakeholders to establish error budgets.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage incident response to mitigate business impacts by coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Serve as primary point of contact during major incidents, identifying and resolving issues to prevent financial losses.
  • Participate in 24x7 support coverage as required.
  • Oversee, track, and validate all changes to Production and Disaster Recovery environments.
  • Automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation on AWS.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance reliability and stability of team applications and platforms using data-driven analytics.
  • Document and share knowledge within the organization through internal forums and communities.
Key Requirements:
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and proficient advanced experience.
  • Deep proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, and site reliability best practices.
  • Fluency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java Spring Boot, Go, Shell Script, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of software applications and technical processes with emerging depth in one or more technical disciplines.

This role requires strong technical expertise, proactive identification and resolution of technology-related bottlenecks, and a high level of understanding of applications and platforms under purview. The ideal candidate will be able to expand and collaborate across different levels and stakeholder groups, identify new technologies and relevant solutions, and initiate and implement ideas to solve business problems.

They will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
