Electrical Site Chargehand Role OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team of engineers and industry experts in delivering cutting-edge projects. As an Electrical Site Chargehand, you will play a pivotal role in our project development, working closely with the Site Foreman and Project Manager.

As an Electrical Site Chargehand, your primary responsibility will be to lead a crew of direct and subcontract labor, while remaining on their tools. You will support the Foreman/Site Supervisor with daily site management tasks, ensuring the scope of work is delivered to a high standard. Additionally, you will ensure all additional requests outside the scope are captured and communicated to the project Quantity Surveyor (QS) team.

Health and safety protocols must be strictly adhered to, and you will actively develop a culture where safety and quality are central to the mindset of each crew member. This includes providing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) when required and ensuring all permits and SPA's necessary for planned works are in place.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a crew of direct & subcontract labor, while remaining on their tools.
  • Support the Foreman / Site Supervisor with daily site management tasks.
  • Ensure scope of work is delivered
  • Ensure all additional requests outside the scope are captured and communicated to project Quantity Surveyor (QS) team.
  • Ensure no breaches of Health and Safety protocols.
  • Actively develop a culture where safety & quality are central to the mindset of each crew member.
  • Ensure works are carried out to a high standard while complying with building regulations, National Rules for Electrical Installations, Health and Safety and environmental standards.
  • Provide LOTO when and where required.
  • Ensure all permits / SPA's required for the planned works are in place.
Role Requirements
  • 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Minimum Level 6 of the QQI Certificate in Electrical Craft Practice or equivalent.
  • Have completed the Electrical Verification & Certification course with a Qualified Certifier (QC) number would be advantageous.
  • LOTO Experience.
  • Demonstrable a high level of technical knowledge with practical application.
