Job Title: Field Service Engineer

The role of a Field Service Engineer is to ensure the smooth operation of fully automated warehousing systems at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Installation and Maintenance: The engineer will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, repair, and troubleshooting of fully automated warehousing systems.
  2. Responsive Support: Providing responsive telephone and on-site support to customers.
  3. On-call Rota: Participation in an on-call rota to maintain seven-day cover for key customers.
  4. Fault-finding and Troubleshooting: Fault-finding and troubleshooting issues in corrective maintenance.
  5. Liaising with the Office Team: Liaising with the office team and other staff members to ensure seamless communication.
  6. Planned Preventative Maintenance: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance at customer sites.
  7. Hands-on Work: Hands-on work with heavy industrial equipment, requiring strong knowledge of electrical and electronic instrumentation, equipment, and processes.
  8. Other Duties: Any other duties reasonably requested by management that fall within your capabilities.

Person Specification:

  • Minimum 10 Years' Experience: Minimum of 10 years' electrical and mechanical field service experience.
  • Relevant Experience: Relevant experience as a Technician/Engineer essential.
  • Qualification: Qualification via training, diploma, degree, or a time-served apprenticeship in a relevant field; a degree or equivalent in electronic/electro-mechanical engineering preferred.
  • IT Skills: IT, networking, and PC-based diagnostics and repair skills advantageous.
  • Independence: Capable of working independently at customer sites.
  • IT Literacy: IT literate with familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong Safety Mindset: Strong safety mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Technical Problem-solving: Technically minded problem solver with strong communication skills.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Full Driving Licence: Full, clean driving licence essential.
