Job Title: Health & Safety Specialist - Co Antrim

This role is for a professional to work in the field of occupational health and safety, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a positive safety culture.

Description:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health & Safety Specialist to join our team in Co Antrim. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing EHS programs that align with government regulations and company policies.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, experience in hazard identification and risk assessment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and experience in developing and delivering training programs.
Responsibilities:
  1. Developing and implementing EHS programs: Creating and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs that align with government regulations and company policies.
  2. Risk assessment and hazard control: Identifying potential hazards, evaluating risks, and implementing measures to control or eliminate them.
  3. Developing and delivering training: Creating and delivering training programs on safety procedures, safe work practices, and emergency procedures.
  4. Incident investigation and reporting: Investigating accidents and near misses, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
  5. Compliance and auditing: Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, company standards, and industry best practices.
  6. Promoting a positive safety culture: Engaging with employees at all levels to foster a proactive safety culture.
  7. Maintaining safety documentation: Keeping accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incident investigations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Experience in hazard identification and risk assessment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
  • A degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is often required.
