The role of a Financial Project Manager is pivotal in the planning, coordination and execution of projects across various areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning & Governance: Defining project scope, timeline and milestones to ensure timely delivery.
  • Project Management & Delivery: Tracking and reporting project status to stakeholders, coordinating internal workstreams including finance, legal, HR, operations and IT.
  • Communication: Establishing clear communication channels between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Integration Management: Leading post-transaction integration, planning and execution.
  • Stakeholder Management: Working closely with directors and senior management to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Compliance: Ensuring adherence to all legal, regulatory and internal governance requirements.
  • M&A Research & Due Diligence Coordination: Coordinating research and evaluation of potential M&A targets.
Requirements
  • Project Management Qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) to provide structured approach to project management.
  • Finance Qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA) to ensure financial acumen.
  • Experience of SAP (desirable) to leverage technology for improved efficiency.
  • 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in M&A, with a proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience of M&A processes and activities and familiarity with due diligence processes.
  • Familiarity with legal, financial and operational aspects of financial services.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills to drive project success.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information to maintain trust and credibility.
