Project Manager Role in Financial Services

The purpose of this role is to plan, coordinate and execute projects across various areas including mergers & acquisitions, post-acquisition integration, payment technology transformation.

  • Plan and coordinate projects to ensure timely delivery and benefit realization.
  • Manage risks, timelines, and stakeholder alignment throughout the process.
  • Lead and coordinate end-to-end project delivery.

This is a hands-on role that requires someone who is comfortable managing several projects at once.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning: Define project scope, timeline, and milestones.
  • Project Management: Track and report project status to key stakeholders.
  • Integration Management: Lead post-transaction integration, planning, and execution.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and internal governance requirements.
  • M&A Coordination: Coordinate research and evaluation of potential M&A targets.
Key Skills:
  • Strong project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP).
  • Finance qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
  • Experience of SAP (desirable).
  • 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in M&A.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with legal, financial, and operational aspects of financial services.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
