Home Care Worker Opportunity

Family Carers Ireland is a national charity supporting family carers across the country who dedicate their lives to caring for loved ones with physical or intellectual disabilities, frail older people, those with palliative care needs or those living with chronic illnesses or addiction.

We provide a range of supports and services nationally from our local support centres. As a Home Care Worker, you will be embedded in homes all over Ireland, providing person centred care in a home environment.

Job Description:

Provide high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes, promoting independence and dignity at all times.

Assist with daily living tasks, such as bathing, dressing and meal preparation, as well as administering medication when required.

Engage in activities that promote mental and physical well-being, including exercise, socialisation and leisure activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Calm, polite and professional while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
  • Kind and caring nature
  • Reliable and trustworthy individual committed to providing quality care
  • QQI Level 5 Healthcare Modules: Care Skills and Care of the Older Person QQI Level 5 Full Healthcare Award including above modules
  • 1 year paid experience in a similar caring role
  • Satisfactory Garda Vetting

Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: €14.70 - Half hour and premium rates for Sundays and Bank Holidays are also paid
  • Mileage/Travel Time: 30c per kilometre + fortnightly travel payment
  • Annual Leave Entitlement: 8% of hours work subject to a maximum of four working weeks per annum
