Job Summary

A dedicated Vehicle Prepper is sought after by our organization.

The ideal candidate will prepare vehicles for painting after they have been repaired by our panel beaters.

This role ensures the surface of each vehicle is flawlessly prepped and primed, making it ready for final paint application.

Responsibilities

  1. Assess and repair vehicle bodies post-collision, preparing them for priming and painting
  2. Apply primer to repaired surfaces, ensuring thorough coverage and proper preparation for painting
  3. Sand, mask, and otherwise prepare vehicle surfaces to a fine finish
  4. Apply seam sealer as required to ensure waterproofing and seamless repairs
  5. Ensure that vehicles are clean, masked, and 'gun ready' for spray painters
  6. Collaborate closely with panel beaters and spray painters to ensure smooth workflow and quality control
  7. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment in compliance with health and safety standards
  8. Manage supplies and equipment related to the prepping process, including inventory tracking and reordering as necessary

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Prepper in a professional auto body shop
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair and preparation techniques
  • Experience with seam sealer and other waterproofing applications
  • Skilled in the use of tools and equipment necessary for high-quality vehicle preparation
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to achieving excellent finishes
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Good communication and organisational skills
