Community Development Coordinator

We are seeking a passionate and creative professional to join our team as a Community Development Coordinator. As a key member of our community team, you will work closely with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and acquired brain injuries to support their goals in employment, education, and social inclusion.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Social Care or a related field and at least 2 years of experience working in disability/social care. They will be able to build trust with individuals, families, and colleagues and have strong communication skills. The role will involve empowering individuals to identify and achieve their personal goals, facilitating community engagement, innovating solutions to enhance independence, and collaborating with families and local services to create sustainable support plans.

  • Empower individuals as a keyworker, helping them identify and achieve personal goals in employment, education, and social inclusion.
  • Facilitate community engagement by supporting people to build friendships, access activities, and develop natural support networks.
  • Innovate & problem-solve by exploring assistive technology and creative solutions to enhance independence.
  • Collaborate with families & local services to create sustainable, person-centered support plans.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualification: Degree in Social Care or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 2+ years in disability/social care (open to relevant transferable skills).
  • Drivers License: Full clean license (required for community-based support).
