Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Support Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and leading the implementation of resources and outreach programs that promote the well-being and independence of individuals with disabilities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead the implementation of resource and outreach programs in line with operational manuals and policies.
  • Support the development of youth services and facilitate opportunities for members to access community facilities and engage in activities.
  • Mentor and support staff in all aspects of program delivery, including patient moving and handling, and personal care of service users where required.
  • Ensure that your work promotes and enhances the independence of service users and complies with safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Undertake training as directed by the Service Coordinator and ensure flexibility and availability for out-of-hours service activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • QQI level 5 (Major Award) in Health Care Support or similar, with a minimum of 5 modules completed and working towards the Major Award accepted.
  • Full Category B Driving Licence is desirable.
  • Previous experience of networking, facilitation, development, and delivery of projects or programs, as well as working with people with disabilities.
  • Strong computer and administration skills.
