Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Overview

This senior role is responsible for the commercial management of a multi-unit apartment scheme. Key responsibilities include managing cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the project, preparing tender packages, subcontractor procurement, and contract administration, as well as monitoring project costs, variations, and valuations to ensure commercial targets are met.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Cost Planning and Budgeting: Develop and manage comprehensive cost plans, including detailed breakdowns of expenses and projected income.
  • Tender Packages and Contract Administration: Prepare and coordinate tender packages, subcontractor procurement, and contract administration, ensuring compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
  • Project Cost Management: Oversee project costs, variations, and valuations, ensuring commercial targets are met and value engineering opportunities are maximized.
Requirements:
  • Degree Qualification: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years post-graduate experience, ideally in residential projects with a main contractor or developer.
  • Commercial Awareness and Negotiation Skills: Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills, with a proven track record in managing multi-unit housing/apartment developments.
  • Communication and Organizational Abilities: Excellent communication and organizational abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment.
