Job Opportunity

A senior backend software development lead position has become available in our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical direction of a core domain, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and promoting high-quality and scalable solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of technical direction for a key business domain
  • Leadership of solution design and architecture across distributed systems
  • Collaboration with various teams and offshore partners to drive success
  • Promotion of best practices, code quality, scalability, and long-term maintainability
  • Mentorship and guidance of engineers through reviews, solutioning, and best practices
  • Representation in cross-team technical planning and discussions
  • Driving continuous improvement in delivery workflows and technical standards

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in backend development with PHP 7/8
  • At least 2 years in a technical lead or domain ownership role
  • Strong experience with Symfony or similar modern PHP frameworks
  • Deep understanding of REST/SOAP APIs, scalable architecture, and clean coding practices
  • Proficiency in relational database modeling and performance tuning (MySQL)
  • Familiarity with asynchronous processing, messaging queues, and containerized environments
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps tooling (Docker, GitLab)
  • Strong grasp of SOLID principles, design patterns, and architecture best practices

The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and leadership skills, along with the ability to work effectively within a team environment. They must also be eligible to work full-time in Ireland without restriction.
