Leadership Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced leader to join our team as a Practice or Clinical Director in Waterford, Ireland.

The Role:

As a Practice or Clinical Director, you will be responsible for leading a dedicated team and shaping the future of veterinary care in Waterford. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading with purpose: Inspiring your teams by fostering a professional, respectful, and collaborative environment.
  • Driving operational excellence: Overseeing daily practice operations, including rota management, compliance, and coordination with wider leadership and support teams.
  • Developing people: Working closely with HR and Talent teams to recruit, onboard, train, and support staff, ensuring a positive and inclusive workplace.
  • Managing finance and growth: Monitoring financial performance, controlling stock, and implementing marketing and business development strategies to support sustainable growth.
  • Championing clinical standards (Clinical Director role only): Guiding clinical policies, promoting best practices, and supporting continuous professional development among the clinical team.

Requirements:

For this role, we are looking for candidates with:

  • Proven leadership and management experience: Candidates must have demonstrated strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of success in managing teams and driving business growth.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in small animal veterinary practice with clinical duties: This includes hands-on experience in patient care, surgery, and medical procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: A friendly, fair, and compassionate approach is essential for building strong relationships with colleagues, patients, and clients.
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and confidently challenge the status quo: Strong communication and negotiation skills are necessary for working effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
