Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Primary Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a vibrant, agile and multi-functional team in delivering projects on time, safely, and to the required quality standards.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of key aspects of project delivery, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure technical compliance and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce primary plant designs for HV substation projects, ensuring compliance with relevant specifications and employer's requirements.
  • Develop engineering reporting documentation, including CT burden assessments, control building lighting and heating calculations, to support project delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver substation compound and building layout drawings that meet project needs.
  • Work closely with secondary design, civil, and operations engineers, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases to ensure successful project outcomes.
Necessary Requirements:
  • Hold a 3rd-level qualification in electrical engineering.
  • Have minimum 3 years' experience in primary engineering design or project management roles on industrial installation projects.
  • Demonstrate professional and commercial acumen, with the ability to represent the company at senior levels in meetings.
