CNC Machinist Job Description:

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a high-spec manufacturing environment and enjoys working to tight tolerances on complex injection moulds and automation components.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming CNC milling and turning machines. They will also machine components to high precision, working from CAD drawings and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Setting up, operating, and programming CNC milling and turning machines.
  • Machining components to high precision, working from CAD drawings and technical specifications.
  • Supporting the manufacture and maintenance of injection mould tools and precision components.
  • Using EDM (wire/sinker) and manual machines (lathes, grinders, drills) for secondary operations and fine-tuning.
  • Assisting in diagnosing and resolving machining/tooling issues to reduce downtime.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 2-5+ years' experience in a precision machining or toolroom environment.
  • Proven CNC programming skills (e.g., Fanuc, Heidenhain, or similar).
  • Able to interpret CAD drawings and machine to tight tolerances.
  • Solid understanding of materials, cutting speeds/feeds, and machining techniques.
