Job Overview

We seek an experienced Horticulturist/Plant Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the health and appearance of interior plants at designated client accounts.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • We visit scheduled accounts regularly, paying special attention to high-maintenance and large accounts.
  • We maintain expected quality standards by providing effective maintenance while minimizing plant replacements.
  • We keep timely and accurate client records, logging all plant maintenance activity, including plant feeding and inventory.
  • We water all plants to the appropriate level, ensure they are clean and free of dust, and remove discolored leaves and prune as necessary.
  • We notify management of damaged pots and plants and keep current client inventories up to date.
  • We keep vehicles, tools, and machinery in good repair and working order, and remove all waste and debris from planters and sites.
  • We check and treat pest issues in compliance with company policies, communicate with management regarding access issues, and provide assistance as required in other areas of the company.
  • We report client requests to management, ensure replacement plant stock is on hand as required, and book necessary equipment in advance.
  • We participate in interior and exterior planting projects as business needs require.
  • Health & Safety Responsibilities:
  1. We implement procedures set out in the Health & Safety policy.
  2. We monitor H&S practices and document checks as required by the policy.
  3. We report problems that could affect Health & Safety to their Manager.
  4. We prevent the use of defective equipment posing a safety risk.
  5. We resolve problems relating to structure, maintenance, and equipment.
  6. We actively manage any specific hazards that exist during their service.
  7. We maintain records in relation to accidents, training, and H&S checks.
  8. We attend all training organized by their manager and required to perform their duties.
