Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

This role is ideal for a skilled mechanical engineer who can lead project teams and provide technical expertise in building services design.

  • Lead full mechanical design packages on projects of varying sizes, ensuring quality control and consistency across deliverables.
  • Manage budgets, cost control, and client expectations while mentoring engineers to foster technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Represent the business at client meetings, site surveys, and project reviews, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across offices.
  • Provide technical leadership in water services, HVAC, heating/LTHW, fuel, drainage, and BMS systems, staying up-to-date with Irish Building Regulations and ensuring compliance in all designs.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and possess minimum 6 years' experience in building services consultancy design, with strong knowledge of mechanical systems and design delivery across project lifecycles. Thermal modelling, dynamic energy modelling, and energy assessments are advantageous. Chartered Engineer (preferred) or actively pursuing chartership is beneficial, along with excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills, commercial awareness, and client-facing ability.
