Consumer Protection Career

The role of the Consumer Protection Division is to enforce consumer protection legislation and ensure traders comply with relevant regulations.

The CPC Unit plays a key part in facilitating consumer enforcement authorities to work together on issues under the EU Consumer Protection Cooperation framework. It has responsibility for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes and participates in the International Consumer Protection Enforcement Network (ICPEN).

SECI leads in shaping the strategy for consumer protection, supporting a risk-based approach to compliance and enforcement. It manages the enforcement case pipeline and provides information to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to enforcing consumer protection legislation by managing requests from other EU Member States, participating in joint actions and sweeps.
  • Carry out assessments to evaluate non-compliance by traders and prepare reports with recommendations.
  • Represent the authority at national and international forums, occasionally requiring travel.

Requirements:

We seek an experienced professional to join the CPC Unit as a Consumer Protection Executive. The successful candidate will have expertise in consumer protection regulation and/or enforcement or comparable experience.
