Job Overview

Our team is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Engineer. This individual will play a key part in designing and managing road schemes and active travel projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Project management: coordinating and ensuring compatibility of multi-disciplinary inputs on projects of varying scale, complexity, and value.
  • Liaising with clients, building strong relationships, proactively managing expectations, and providing comprehensive advice.
  • Technical lead and reviewer roles, utilizing technical ability and experience to develop staff.
  • Preparing fee proposals and managing budgets for individual projects.
  • Responsible for the development and delivery of discrete and overall project solutions; leading and managing other staff members in the delivery of design drawings, standard construction details, specifications, and bill of quantities, supporting the preparation of tender packages.
  • Compliance with health and safety, environmental legislation, and in-house quality assurance standards/processes;
Requirements

The successful candidate must have experience in project management and technical delivery lead of road or public transport/active travel schemes, with knowledge of Transport Infrastructure Ireland/National Transport Authority/Local Authority procedures essential.

Experience of contract document preparation or contract administration/site supervision using Public Works Contracts, with a chartered membership of a relevant engineering technical institution preferred.

Knowledge of alignment and drainage design software packages such as Civil3D/Open Roads and WinDes would be beneficial but not essential.
