Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled VPN Tech Lead to drive the evolution of our VPN technology. The successful candidate will lead innovation, performance improvements, and protocol development across both client and infrastructure layers.


This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and evolving VPN protocols and supporting systems, including WireGuard and Mimic. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, and VPN technologies.


The VPN Tech Lead will work closely with infrastructure, client, and product teams to align protocol improvements with real-world user needs. They will also be responsible for leading deep technical investigations into bottlenecks, protocol anomalies, and production traffic issues.


In addition, the VPN Tech Lead will mentor engineers, champion best practices, and set technical direction for the VPN stack. They will also drive obfuscation techniques and anti-censorship strategies in network-challenging environments.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, and VPN technologies
  • Experience building and debugging high-performance, secure systems
  • Ability to drive technical projects across both client and infrastructure layers
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset
