Project Architectural Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Lead to join our organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical design and submittal process, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate will have a BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management or a HNC/HND/Degree in Construction Management or Architecture/Architectural Technology (including an industrial placement).
A minimum of 5 years' experience of managing elements of construction projects is essential. The candidate should also have strong communication and project management skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:- Overseeing the technical design and submittal process
- Conducting value engineering exercises in collaboration with the Commercial Department
- Refining specifications to ensure no under/over specifying is taking place
- Ensuring financial opportunities are maximised
- Attending internal and external project meetings as the organisation's Design Lead
- Presenting summary reports on project health; program, budget, approvals etc.
- Identifying potential risks at the earliest possible stage and reporting back to Directors and Senior Management
- Managing resource requirements, utilizing internal team and establishing external consultants required to fulfil project requirements
- Reviewing drawings produced by internal and external designers ensuring compliance
- Reviewing specifications thoroughly ensuring proposals are fit for purpose
- Conducting value engineering exercises at all opportunities
- Reviewing and interrogating calculations produced externally to satisfy yourself that we are not over or under specifying and are in compliance with building regulations at all times
- A BTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management or a HNC/HND/Degree in Construction Management or Architecture/Architectural Technology (including an industrial placement)
- A minimum of 5 years' experience of managing elements of construction projects
€65k - €85k dependent on relevant experience
