Job Role:

The role of Independent Non-Executive Director is a pivotal position within the governing body of football, at all levels, throughout Ireland.

As a key figure, you will play a crucial part in overseeing the development, administration and promotion of football.

The governing body has responsibility for fostering the growth and participation levels of the game, both on and off the pitch.

We are seeking to appoint an Independent Non-Executive Director to join the Board, as well as establishing a panel of suitably qualified candidates from which future INED vacancies may be filled.


Key Responsibilities:

As an Independent Non Executive Director on the Board, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance, governance and oversight.

You will work alongside a diverse and experienced Board, leveraging your expertise to support the Senior Leadership Team on all the strategic goals for the Association.

While this current role has a focus on financial skills, we are also looking to establish a panel of candidates with expertise in all aspects of Board operations, including commercial, governance, legal etc.

It is policy that the Boards of publicly funded NGBs maintain gender balance, and we are seeking a female candidate for this role.

The responsibilities of the Board include:

  • Providing strategic direction and oversight
  • Supporting the Senior Leadership Team
  • Contributing to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will require:

A strong understanding of football governance and administration

Experience of working in a similar role or industry

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

A commitment to diversity and inclusion

Desirable Skills:

Financial skills and experience

Commercial awareness and experience

Legal knowledge and experience
