Job Opportunity: Fashion Buyer Position

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Fashion Buyer to join our Buying team. This role is perfect for someone looking to continue within head office buying, but who is also looking to challenge themselves within an innovative retail environment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the Buyer in building the product range to deliver a commercially viable and balanced offering at competitive prices. They will also ensure that all critical dates are met through effective critical path management.

Key responsibilities of this Fashion Buyer position include:

  • Assisting the Buyer in developing the product range plan to meet commercial and business objectives.
  • Managing relationships with suppliers and regularly reviewing their performance to ensure delivery of high-quality products.
  • Raising accurate purchase orders in line with buyers' direction, including packing information and shipping details.
  • Proactively sourcing new product ideas through research and development, ensuring alignment with company policies and strategies.
  • Visiting stores regularly to gather feedback and communicate key insights back to the Buying team.
  • Identifying and selecting vendors and suppliers based on criteria such as quantity and quality of commodities, price, and delivery date.

Requirements for this Fashion Buyer role include:

  • A passion for fashion and a strong understanding of market trends.
  • At least 2 years of buying experience, preferably in the fashion industry.
  • A third-level qualification in fashion or a related field is desirable.
  • Excellent Excel skills and numerical ability are essential for managing budgets and forecasting.
  • Strong attention to detail, multitasking skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are required.
  • An understanding of customer needs and the ability to creatively develop products that address identified trends.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally.
