Garden Centre Manager Role

We are seeking a dynamic professional to lead our garden centre in Limerick.

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Branch Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the Garden Centre and across the wider site. Your experience in leading teams and delivering outstanding results will be crucial in achieving our shared goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive a safety-first culture, ensuring a secure environment for all staff and customers.
  • Deliver exceptional customer experiences, meeting Co-Op SuperStores' high standards.
  • Optimise sales and continuously improve store performance, exceeding targets.
  • Maintain excellent section standards, adhering to operational requirements.
  • Assist with management duties as needed, including keyholder responsibilities.
  • Support the Branch Manager in achieving agreed objectives.
  • Foster a motivated, engaged, and enabled sales team, providing regular updates and development opportunities.
  • Manage weekly deliveries, ensuring best practice in stock control and availability.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legislation, and audit standards.
  • Assist with business administration, including managing cash, stock, and systems.
Requirements:
  • A relevant horticulturist qualification is essential, preferably with people management experience.
  • A proven track record in retailing with strong product knowledge is necessary.
  • A keen understanding of our business, with strong commercial awareness.
  • A proven ability to deliver an excellent customer experience, driving sales and impacting the bottom line.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills, with attention to detail.
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative and a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Self-motivation and flexibility when required.
  • Proficient IT skills, including MS Office, POS, email, etc.
