Product Development Specialist

Lead a team of product specialists to develop and implement category strategies that drive sales, optimize inventory, and align with market demand in the timber department.
- Develop and execute comprehensive plans for expanding product ranges and improving customer satisfaction.
- Select and source high-quality products from trusted suppliers and negotiate pricing structures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance in-store product presentation, merchandising, and promotions.
- Provide expert advice and support to customers on timber products, including structural and decorative timber ranges.
- Proven experience in category management, product buying, or sales leadership, preferably within building materials, timber, or related product areas.
- Strong commercial acumen and a track record of achieving sales and margin targets.
- Excellent product knowledge in at least one core area: structural timber, sheet materials, or wood-based products.
- Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, colleagues, and customers alike.
- Data-driven mindset—comfortable with sales reporting, margin tracking, and stock management.
