About this role

We are seeking a skilled Ecologist / Forester Woodland Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing environmental/ecology reports and maps required to accompany woodland applications.

You will work as a forestry technician to ensure the successful establishment of our young forests by dealing with landowners, contractors, and officials.

  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Produce Environmental/Ecology reports and maps
  • Work as a forestry technician to establish young forests
  • Deal with landowners, contractors, and officials

No experience is necessary, as training will be provided. You will be based in Sligo, with flexible working arrangements available.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Ecology or similar Environmental Science degree
  • Registered or ability to get registered with CIEEM
  • Full Driving License
  • Highly motivated, ability to work on own initiative
  • Computer literate (email, word, excel)
  • Good communication skills, happy to deal with people daily
  • An interest in Woodlands, the timber industry, and all types of trees
