Job Opportunity in Experimental Particle Physics

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team as a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Experimental Particle Physics. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to contribute to our research programme, teaching and student supervision.

  • The appointee will undertake a research programme of international repute in high-energy experimental particle physics, as a member of one of the CERN LHC experiments CMS or LHCb.
  • They will complement and broaden existing research in the School that includes electroweak and top physics, diffraction and ultra-peripheral collisions.
  • Interdisciplinary research will include collaboration with the UCD Centre for Physics in Health and Medicine, and the School of Computer Science.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership skills in building their research group, publishing in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, supervising research students and establishing collaborations with research groups in the School or elsewhere.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating and delivering elements of the School's BSc and MSc taught programmes, including classroom and laboratory teaching, project and group-work supervision.
  • Contributing to the enhancement of teaching, learning, assessment and the overall student experience.
