Postdoctoral Research Fellow

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join our Planetary Magnetospheres Group, exploring a range of topics within the solar system.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on one of three research themes:

  • Using planetary radio emissions to investigate solar wind-magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling at Earth, Jupiter, and Saturn.
  • Classifying the dynamic field and plasma environment at Mercury using NASA MESSENGER data and preparing for future BepiColombo measurements.
  • Exploring Jupiter's magnetosphere with NASA Juno, examining multi-wavelength auroral emissions from X-ray to radio to UV, in situ fields, plasma, and energetic particles.

This position offers scientific independence, with the possibility of extension after the initial 2-year term. The successful candidate will be part of a vibrant research team, collaborating locally and internationally on spacecraft data treatment and interpretation or model outputs.

To be eligible, applicants should hold a PhD in space physics, computer science, or a closely related field. A good command of English is required, with experience in Python programming advantageous.
